Saturday Little Swallows: Ages 1-4

Join our celebrated Little Swallows music class! Little Swallows classes introduce young music lovers to the world of music, and our classroom is welcoming to all. The class is geared for children ages one to three years old and uses music as a starting point to create a fun learning experience.

To support our teachers and better accommodate the needs of our classes, we ask that students register at least 48 hours in advance of the class, lesson, and/or workshop.

 

Judy Porter

 

BASS, UKULELE, VOICE, PIANO, FLUTE

Judy Porter is both a performer and passionate educator with a dynamic career that spans the stage, studio, and classroom. With a degree in Musical Theatre Performance from the College of Santa Fe, Judy launched into professional theatre as a proud member of Actors’ Equity, performing on stages across the country.

Her music career has taken her coast to coast—and beyond. She’s toured the world with The California Girls, lighting up stages on USO tours and even opening for legends like The Beach Boys. She’s also shared bills with rock favorites Hinder and Puddle of Mudd with her band The Hits, and opened for Cindy Wilson of the B-52s with Battle Pussy. Whether she’s rocking out on bass, bringing melodies to life on flute and keys, or delivering powerhouse vocals, Judy brings unstoppable energy to every performance.

Currently, Judy brings her versatile talents to several bands: she sings lead and plays keys and flute with Pretty in Punk, rocks bass, ukulele, and lead vocals with Mermaid and the Magpie, and lays down bass and harmonies with The Battle Pussy Band.

As a teacher, Judy combines her real-world experience with a joyful, encouraging approach that blends music theory, technique, and fun. “What I love most about teaching,” she says, “is sharing the thing that brings me immeasurable joy. Watching my students grow and light up when they learn something new is the absolute best.”

What song could you listen to all day long? This is a hard question! I don’t think I could narrow it down to just one song, but it would be either by Madonna, Gaga, or Misfits.

Favorite Colorado hangout? Red Rocks

What’s your favorite thing about Swallow Hill?  The heart. From the minute I walked in I could feel this. Swallow Hill has created a space where the true heart of music is taught welcomed, and embraced. I am honored to be a part of this music community.
